Key Art Visual Development
Each movie poster (and other entertainment key art) starts as 10-35 sketches per agency pitching on the project. The client then chooses favorite designs, requests revisions, and eventually chooses the final agency to work with.
The sketches are used to guide photoshoots and the final key art.
Each round 1 sketch has an individual art director guiding the concept, and each sketch artist has under 2.5 hours to take that concept from a blank page to the level of art you see below.
